1. Our designs are original work
Parvaya designs are created by our own designers and developers. Each one is an original artistic and literary work under the Copyright Act, 1957, and the Parvaya name, logo and wordmark are our brand under the Trade Marks Act, 1999. Protection arises automatically when a work is created and applies in India and, through international treaties, in most other countries.
What we own includes:
- Visual design: layouts, compositions, illustrations, patterns, borders, motifs, colour palettes and typography arrangements;
- Motion and interaction: envelope and curtain openings, scratch-to-reveal dates, transitions, scroll effects, games and every other interactive moment;
- Code: the source code, stylesheets and structure that make each design work, which for many designs is the design itself;
- Media: preview videos, stills, sample photographs, artwork files and the showcase pages that present them;
- Words: our website copy, guides, template names and descriptions;
- Brand: the name Parvaya, पर्व, our logo, wordmark and brand colours as used together.
Some elements, such as certain typefaces, icons or music tracks, are licensed to us by third parties under their own licences. Those licences allow us to use them in invitations we publish; they do not pass to you.
2. Your content stays yours
Your names, photographs, videos, story, monogram and other material you give us remain yours. We use them only to make and host your invitation, and never in our portfolio, website or advertising without your written permission. Full details are in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
3. What you can and can't do
| You're welcome to | Please don't |
|---|---|
| Share your invitation link anywhere, with anyone. | Copy or recreate a Parvaya design in another app, website, print, video or design tool. |
| Post screenshots and screen recordings of your own invitation for your celebration. | Download, extract or reuse our code, stylesheets, animations, artwork or media files. |
| Tell friends which design you chose and link to it on our website. | Resell a design, give it away or use it as a template for anyone else's invitation. |
| Keep screenshots of your invitation as a keepsake after the event. | Remove or hide the Parvaya credit or any copyright notice. |
| Watch previews and live demos to choose a design. | Record, share or publish live demo links, or scrape, bulk-download or crawl our designs. |
| Ask us about exclusive rights to a Bespoke design. | Use our designs, previews or invitations to train or improve AI or machine-learning models. |
Live demos are personal, time-limited links for choosing a design. They are not for sharing, recording or republishing, and we may restrict access if a demo link is misused.
4. Bespoke designs
When we adapt a design or create one for you, your personal elements stay yours and we will never reuse them. The design itself stays ours unless we agree in writing to transfer it or license it to you exclusively, which may be priced separately. We may use the same general style, structure and techniques in other work, without your personal elements.
5. Using the Parvaya name and logo
You may refer to Parvaya by name to say that your invitation was made by us, or to link to our website. Please do not use our logo, wordmark or brand in a way that suggests we endorse, sponsor or are affiliated with you, or in the name of another product, domain or social-media account, without our written permission. Partners may use our brand only as their partner agreement allows.
6. If you think something on Parvaya infringes your rights
We respect other people's intellectual property and expect our customers to do the same. If you believe that an invitation or other content we host infringes your copyright, trademark or other rights, send a notice to the Grievance Officer at the contact details below. To help us act quickly, please include:
- your name, address, phone number and email address, and your relationship to the rights holder if you are acting for them;
- a description of the work or mark you say is being infringed, with evidence that you own it or are authorised to act for its owner (for example, a registration certificate, the original file or a link to where it was first published);
- the exact link to the invitation or page, and a description of the material on it that you say infringes;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate;
- your physical or electronic signature.
When we receive a notice that meets these requirements, we will act promptly and within the time limits required by the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the Copyright Rules, 2013. This may include taking the material offline while the matter is resolved. We will tell the customer concerned and, where appropriate, give them the chance to respond.
If your content was removed and you think it was a mistake
Reply to our message with an explanation of why you believe you have the right to use the material, and any evidence. If the complainant does not provide a court order within the period set by law, or we are satisfied the notice was mistaken, we will restore the content.
Sending a notice you know to be false can make you liable under law. If you are unsure whether something infringes your rights, please take legal advice first.
7. Seen our designs copied?
If you come across a Parvaya design, animation or piece of artwork being sold, copied or passed off by someone else, we would be grateful if you told us, with a link or screenshot. We take copying seriously and will take appropriate action, including legal action where necessary.
